Inner Light with Blue Strip

Paper porcelain, hand-built, 1270 C fired, illuminated, 47 cm, 2005.

This sculpture continues my exploration of the mother‑goddess lineage of Anatolia, translated here into a contemporary form that emphasizes quiet strength and interiority.

The figure’s grounded stance and gently enclosed posture evoke a moment of inward gathering, while the translucent porcelain body—illuminated from within—reveals an emotional landscape shaped by memory, migration, and the search for belonging. The subtle blue strip introduces a visual anchor, a thread of continuity that hints at personal geography and the traces we carry across borders.

Crafted through multiple firings and layered surface treatments, the work reflects the technical precision and material sensitivity central to my practice. As both an object of contemplation and a vessel of lived experience, Inner Light with Blue Strip invites collectors to engage with the interplay of cultural heritage, feminine resilience, and the luminous inner world that defines this body of work.
